2020/2021 Registration now open

In Rising Tide Irish Dance Academy

Registration for the 2020/2021 dance year at Rising Tide is now open. We hope you can find all the information you need here, but don’t hesitate to contact us with questions.

Registration night
Registration night is Wednesday, September 2, 2020 from 5-9 pm. To allow for physical distancing, different classes have been assigned time slots. If your child is a new dancer for the Children’s & Competitive Programme, please attend between 5-6:30 pm. If you are a new dancer to the Adult Programme, please attend between 8-9 pm. Please only attend within the time designated for your/your dancer’s class. Dancers/families do not have to attend registration night to register, however, there are prize incentives for those that do!

We have limited physically distanced spots in our Community Room (six) and will move only a handful of people into the studio at at a time. Therefore, some people may have to wait at the distanced spots outdoors. A coach will be there to help direct people where to go. All attendees must wear masks during registration night. Dancers are encouraged to attend so they can try things on and we ask that only one parent brings dancers where possible.

Class capacities
Please be aware that our beginner classes have capped capacity (Tots – 8 dancers, Beginner 1 – 12 dancers, Beginner 2/Advanced Beginner – 12 dancers). If you have a dancer interested in these classes, please consider paying your fees asap to hold your dancer’s space.

Be prepared
Using distancing will slow us down a little bit. To save time, please consider printing and completing, or typing and emailing your/your dancer’s registration forms ahead of time.

Brand new dancers that attend will get their school tshirt 50 per cent off. All dancers that attend will be entered in a draw to win September’s tuition free, a water bottle or a pair of poodle socks.

Shopping and fundraising
Sandra Hotchkiss of Sandra’s Irish Dance Shop will be at registration night selling dance shoes and other gear. If you are looking for something specific, or want to order new items to be brought in, we recommend you email her in advance. Contact Sandra at admin@heartofthehighlands.ca. Beginner dancers can purchase proper Irish dance shoes if desired but are also welcome to wear simple, black, soft slippers which can be purchased at Twiggz etc.

Our dancer and parent fundraising group will also be set up at registration night so you can expect to see them there.

Registration documents
Everything you need to know about Rising Tide is on our website and new dancers will also receive a welcome letter after registering. Links are below for 2020/2021 registration documents. Dancers can register by emailing completed forms and payment or by attending registration night.

Dancer referrals
If a current Rising Tider referred you to our school, please help them out by including their name on your registration form.
