The 2026 schedule will be uploaded when ready. 2025 is linked for reference as competitions will follow a similar running order.

Rising Tide’s 2026 School Feis is here. While participation is not mandatory, we strongly encourage ALL dancers to participate. This is a great opportunity to have an introduction to feiseanna, get some practice time in front of a judge, and spend time with other dancers and families.

Volunteers are also needed to make this day happen. Please sign-up if you can help.

FEIS DETAILS

When: Sunday, January 18, 2026
Where: auditorium of École du Carrefour in Dartmouth.
Time: doors open at 8:00 a.m. Dancing begins at 9:00 a.m. and is expected to conclude at 3:00 p.m.*
Dancers: all Rising Tide dancers are eligible (and encouraged!) to participate
Guests: Family and friends are invited to watch in person or via a live stream
Cost: dancers pay fees as part of their registration, no additional door fee is charged at the event

*This is a big event for our school and works to not only provide dancers with experience at competition but also the opportunity to spend time with other dancers from the school and see what others have been working on. We encourage everyone to spend as much of the days as possible watching and cheering dancers on! However, dancers only need to stay for their scheduled block of competitions and related awards.

REGISTRATION

To register for our school feis, please complete the registration form. Please note that some classes have required dances, and these are indicated on the registration form. Those interested in competing in the special, themed competitions should add those as well (see details below).

The deadline to register is 11:59 p.m. on January 11, 2026. Registration will be accepted right up until feis day, but anyone registering as of January 12 or later will be charged a $25 late fee (per family, plus tax). Any registrations not paid for as of January 12 will be considered final, payment will be due, and the late fee will be charged. Non-payment is not considered a withdrawal from the competition. If you register before before the late fee deadline and want to withdraw, please email us.

FEES & PAYMENT

Fees (all fees include tax)
  • Registration fee (mandatory per family): $11.50. This removes a door charge, all guests can come in for free on the day.
  • Grade levels fees: $11.50 per dance.
  • Championship level fees: $34.50 for three rounds. This applies to dancers competing in prelim, open-champ, adult champ or adult advanced.
  • Special competition fees: $11.50 per dancer.

Making payment:
Once you complete the registration form, please proceed to make payment via Uplifter or etransfer.

Uplifter payment
Follow this link to pay on Uplifter. Select grade/special or championship dances and adjust the quantity as needed to reflect your registration. Be sure to also add the registration fee, one per family is required. Alternatively you can navigate to Products/Trials and search “school feis” to filter for the appropriate products.

Etransfer payment
Please add up how many individual dances you entered, including specials, and multiply by $11.50. Add your $11.50 registration fee (only one needed per family) and etransfer to info@risingtideacademy.ca. Championship level dancers should send $34.50 plus $11.50 registration fee (one per family), plus any special competition entries at $11.50 per.

SPECIALS

In addition to dancers’ regular competitions, we also always run two special competitions—these are open to dancers at all levels, and can be performed solo, with a partner or as a group. Dancers can create their own choreography or use existing steps and can choose the type of dance shoes they wear, but music of standard tempos will be provided and be the same for everyone.

Specials are a maximum of 48 bars of choreography (not including 8bar intro). Costumes and creativity are encouraged, and prizes will be awarded for both costumes and choreography!

This year’s special themes are Olympics (reels, 113bpm) and Retro Ski (slip jigs, 113bpm).

ADJUDICATOR & MUSIC

This year’s school feis will be adjudicated by Scott Graham. Scott is an adjudicator and teacher from the Graham School of Irish Dance in Milton, Ontario.

Musical accompaniment will be recorded.
