Feiseanna (Irish dance competitions) take place throughout the year and are open to all dancers — no qualification needed! These competitions are a fun way to build friendships, make memories, and grow as a dancer. They’re also a great opportunity to gain stage experience, track your progress, and move up levels.
There are two to three local feiseanna each year:
- Atlantic Canadian Irish Dance Championships (ACIDC) – held in Halifax the last weekend of April
- East Coast Back-to-Back – hosted in the Valley the first weekend of October
- Feis Nova Scotia – takes place in Halifax on Natal Day weekend every second year
In addition to local events, there are plenty of opportunities to compete in Quebec, Ontario, New England, and across Canada and the U.S. — a great way for dancers to gain experience and explore new competitions.
When registering for a feis, be sure to use the Feis Level Tracker to make sure your dancer is entered in the correct levels.
